Boulder

The newest of the course, the Boulder Nine is a true test of the golfers ability. Once the golfer goes through the tunnel, he is faced with the numerous boulders that were originally found on the property. Standing on any tee, always look for the aiming boulder, place your tee shot in that direction and you are on your way to scoring well on this course. Course Rating / Slope.

Boulder Holes

Hole # 1 Par 4

The first hole is a dog leg left around Fred’s silo. The smart player will hit at the aiming boulder and land in the middle of the fairway, leaving a short second shot to the green. Beware trying to cut too close to the silo or your ball could come right back at you.

Hole # 2 Par 5

The par 5 second hole has a large landing area on the fairway making it a drivers delight. A long drive down the left side flirts with the water but can reward you with a shot at getting home in 2.

Boulder 2

Hole # 3 Par 4

A slight dog leg left the third hole favors a drive down the left side. Sand on the right of the green and a large slope on the left places a premium on a well-placed approach shot.

If the pin is on the right side of the sloping green, a birdie is a possibility. But if the pin is on the left of the green, behind the sand, par is a very good score.

Temptation lurks on the fifth hole. But take note, if you try to cut the dog leg by going over the water, anything that lands short of the green is trouble. The smart player will again aim at the boulder, leaving a medium iron into a shallow green.

Hole # 6 Par 4

Trust the aiming boulder, aim for it and you should be safe. Long hitters can get extra distance rolling down the hill, but may end up with a tricky downhill lie on their approach shot to this well guarded green.

Hole # 7 Par 5

Be honest about how far you can hit the ball, aiming right the boulder will shorten the carry over the water off the tee. A good second shot will reward you with a short iron into the smallest green on this nine.

Beautiful and intimidating both describe the eighth hole, a par three over water. Enjoy the view and swing well or you may find yourself at the drop area to the left of this large sloping green.

Place your drive in the wide landing area of the fairway on this finishing hole and you increase your chances of putting your approach shot on the correct level of this three tiered green.
